Self acceptance
We always think about acceptance in terms of acceptance of other people, our environment and the happenings around us.
But what about self-acceptance - are we accepting of ourselves for who we truly are?
Why are we hardest on ourselves?
"I wished I was prettier”…..Maybe you are already pretty; but you are just comparing yourself to a specific definition of beauty
“I should be more organised”…..Maybe you are not organised but you are really good at letting your ideas flow
“I want to have more control and power at work”…..Maybe you need less control but more conversation
“It would be better if I had ….” Maybe you already have what you need to be the person you were meant to be
Perhaps if we shine focus on our skills, strengths and qualities instead of what we lack, we would have more awareness of where we can contribute and make a difference.
